The film's shoot came to an end after five months in Madurai on November As of now, the film is "As part of the homework to prepare for my role, I met lot of real rowdies from Madurai. I spent time with them discussing and studying their behaviour. It helped me with a lot of inputs which I have incorporated in my role in the film. During my interaction with them, I realized that they are common people like us too. We have developed a wrong image about them from what we see in our films. They are normal like us, talk casually like most of us. This helped me to work on my role to perfection. My role is completely different from what I played in 'Neram'. This role expected me to carry age on my shoulders, work extremely hard on subtle reactions, learn Madurai slang and even make slight changes to my physical appearances. I feel this was the most challenging as I had a lot of work to do. In 'Neram' and 'Soodhu Kavvum', I didn't have to change myself so much for the sake of the character, but I did a lot in this film. Overall, it was a great experience."The first look teaser of The film was released on February 9, 2014 which received positive response and got more than million views in 3 days The first look poster featuring Siddharth holding a Gun was released on February 12, 2014 and it too received positive respons The Theatrical trailer of the film was revealed at the audio launch of the film on March The Theatrical trailer too received positive response.[25]Jigarthanda was popularised by the Muslim settlers in the areas around Madurai, which is still the only city where this drink is found authentic. "Famous Jigarthanda Stall" on the ,East Marrat Street along with its branch at Anna Nagar in Madurai have set the records for most jigarthanda sold by volume by a single outlet. The shop witnesses a huge turnout especially in the busy evenings and the mood around the place is always jubilant.
