Sharma, will go on floors in July 2013 and is slated for a worldwide release on December 25, 2014. The first film of a trilogy, as planned by Anurag Kashyap, Bombay Velvet is the story of how the city became a Metropolis, set against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and Jazz.

Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, come together to share screen space as lovers whose lives intermingle with the evolution of the city of Bombay, through the 50s to early 70s.

An excited Anurag Kashyap says, "Bombay Velvet is my first film in a trilogy about Bombay, before it became a Metropolis. It's a story that has always fascinated me and we have been developing it for about four years, and I am very excited that now its fully ready and we begin shoot this year." Adds Vikas Bahl of Phantom Films, "Bombay Velvet is intricately researched and beautifully fictionalized by Anurag as to how one of the greatest cities of the world was created amidst loads of action, romance, pain and huge drama. Amit Trivedi has already started work to compose the music of the film, which will be reminiscent of the golden sound of 60's.

After goin through some reviews on zomato, I decided to order from here. All the top reviews were in favor of the food. But I was HIGHLY disappointed. Really bad food. No hint of any flavour in the biryani. It tasted like plain rice with some mutton pieces in it. And the meat was cooked SO bad!! I couldn't swallow some of the pieces. Home delivery took one and a half hour. I was lookin to just relax in my room, have some good food and go to sleep. Instead, I felt the experience ruined my evening.

y heart (and stomach ;) ) says this place definitely deserves a higher rating but my brain doesn't allow me to.

The food tastes awesome - one of the best after you cross the Jeyadeva bride in BG road. Lot of varieties and lot of seating space and what ever be the size of your team, you will definitely find a place to sit together.

For home deliveries/ take away this is one of the best option and definitely gets a 4.5 - 5.

The only thing i dislike about the place is the quality of service and space they try to maintain. yup, you heard it right. They are intentionally not worried about it and it makes me sick.

Hope they soon change the ambiance so that all the work done in cooking such delicious food doesn't go in vain. :)

The film is based on Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai Fables and set in early 1950's towards 1970's, before Mumbai became a metropolis. Prakash is also one of the scriptwriter's for the film.[4]

Ranbir Kapoor will be portraying a street fighter, whilst Anushka Sharma will appear as a jazz singer, as well as his love interest in the film.[5][6] On his decision to do the film Ranbir Kapoor stated that," There is no process in selecting the kind of work I do. I'm fortunate to be working with some of the best filmmakers. The script of "Bombay Velvet" just fell into my lap. I read it and I knew immediately that I wanted to be part of Anurag's grand vision, his innovative storytelling, his movie-making process; everything that he does so perfectly."

Director Karan Johar will make his full-fledged acting debut, where he will enact the role of the primary antagonist, Kaizad Khambatta.[7] His role is said to have been inspired from Russi Karanjia.[3] On Karan's acting, Vikas Bahl of Phantom Films has said “I think there is a beautiful actor hidden in Karan. I simply love his ads. I'm sure he'll make the character bigger than the actor.”y Velvet
