It is said that Ambala District was founded by Amba Rajput during the 14th century Another version is that the name is a corruption of Amba Wala meaning the mango-village, from mango groves which existed in its immediate neighborhood.[citation needed] Still, another version is that the District has taken its name after goddess "Bhawani Amba" whose Temple still exists in Ambala city.[citation needed] The Ambala Cantonment was established in 1843 after the British were forced to leave its Karnal Cantonment following the malaria epidemic of 1841–42 in as there were not any known effective means to control malaria epidemic in those days. The cantonment houses the '2 Corps', one of the three Strike Corps of the Indian Army. Ambala was given the status of a district in 1847, formed by the merging of the jagir estates of hitherto independent chieftains whose territories had lapsed or had been confiscated by the British Indian Government. In its 160 years of existence as a district, Ambala has witnessed many changes in its boundaries. Previously it extended across tehsils of Ambala, Saphera, Jagadhri, Pipli, Kharar, Mohali, Ropar and Nalagarh. Kalka-cum-Kurari State, Pinjore, Mani Majra, Kasauli & Sanawar were also merged into the district at different times. Ambala Air Force Base is one of the oldest and largest airbases that were inherited from the British by the IAF. It was from this airbase that Spitfires and Harvards flown by Instructors of the Advanced Flying Training School took part in the 1947-48 Kashmir Operations. Subsequently, Ambala was the front line airfield for many years. It was home to various aircraft that were inducted into the Indian Air Force. Vampires, Ouragans, Hunters, etc. all flew from this base. The airbase was briefly attacked in 1965 by B-57 bombers of the Pakistan Air Force. Today, the Airbase houses the '7 Wing' with squadrons of Jaguars and MiG-21 Bisons. A unit of the French-made Dassault Rafale will be based at Ambala air base. In November 1949 Mahatma Gandhi's assassin, Nathuram Godse was hanged at Ambala Central Jail[3] along with Narayan Apte, a co-conspirator. Ambala Cantt is also mentioned in Kim (novel) by Rudyard Kipling.The areas surrounding the market thrive on this market for occupation.[citation needed] Market provides all kinds of cloth tailoring related and other transportation occupations to semi-urban areas around. This market remains closed on Thursday, Holi, Republic Day, Independence Day and Dussehra are the only other days the market remains closed.

As of February , the Central Board of Film Certification denied approval to the film, citing distortion of history, excessive use of abusive language, sexuality, and the portrayal of social movements in a harmful way. The film got a clearance in the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal in the first week of March,  Finally the film is set to be released on 2 August 2013.In the Bengali language, the name of the film literally translates to "War cry of the Beggars". The film shows two imaginary groups of contemporary Bengal- Fyataroo: Flying human beings; Choktor: Black Magic sect Bhodi. The head of the Choktors, initiates a total war against the ruling political party of West Bengal, India. Fyataroos join hands with Choktors. Advised by Calcutta's progenitors Dandabayash (ageless primordial talking crow) and an Indo-colonial half-breed Begum Johnson erupt a historic insurrection. They jointly launch guerrilla attacks against the Government. Skulls dance in crematoria and flying-discs flutter in the skies and cry anarchy, resident ghosts gossip and prattle, and the police is in total confusion. Government is forced to surrender and offer a peace proposal to the joint force. This anarchic film dissects almost everything wrong in the city with a cinematic knife sharpened on trenchant farce and fantasy.[1]In the Bengali language, the name of the film literally translates to "War cry of the Beggars". The letter of denial cited excessive use of abusive language, sexuality, frivolous approach in portraying of social movements and negative portrayal of the character Joseph Stalin.

Mukhopadhyay, the director of the film, was angry that the film was blocked by the censor board and he said in an interview: "It is frightening because it is interference of an artist's work and it is happening again and again in West Bengal. It is not the first time. There was Ambikesh Mahapatra cartoon case, there was the segregation of newspapers and TV channels as friendly and not friendly, there was the student who was called a Maoist because she asked a question. All these small small events are symptomatic of a mindset of what I will say are fascist tendencies."

Veteran actor Rajesh Khanna's last film Riyasat has got a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The delayed film is now likely to release around the late superstar's 71st birth anniversary on December 29.

The film was supposed to come out on Rajesh Khanna's birth anniversary in 2012 but it was then pushed to his death anniversary July 18 this year. However, it did not manage a release even then. But everything is in place now, says director Ashok Tyagi.

"Rajesh Khanna represents life. Therefore, it was inappropriate to release his film on his death anniversary. The film is now absolutely ready for release with a U/A censor certificate," Tyagi said.

"We have issued pages in the trade magazines requesting the entire industry to support us in bringing this film to the audience," he added.

Riyasat also features Gauri Kulkarni, Aryan Vaid, Aryeman Ramsay and Raza Murad.

Tyagi feels it will be ideal to release the film on December 27, two days before the actor's 71st birth anniversary.

Rajesh Khanna, the first superstar of Hindi films, died after a prolonged illness in 2012. He is known for hits like Aradhana, Kati Patang, Anand, Amar Prem, Do Raaste and Aan Milo Sajna among others.He is all over the place... Neither cine world nor his people or fans are willing to believe that the screen romance icon is no more...

Rajesh Khanna left for heavenly abode on 18th July 2012, but he is still alive in the hearts of his followers... And of course through his vast collection of works.

Come December, and one can look forward to see Rajesh Khanna once again on big screens, through his last film.

Titled 'Riyasat', the film has been produced and directed by Ashok Tyagi and also stars Gauri Kulkarni, Aryan Vaid, Raza Murad and Aryeman Ramsay.

Although the film is incomplete, the filmmaker is keen to present it on big screens, by managing to finish the remaining portions somehow and release it on 29th December, a day before Rajesh Khanna's birthday.

While Tyagi has no qualms about completing the project, finding someone to dub Khanna's portions seems to pose as problem.

Apparently, he is considering roping in the ace dubbing artist and screen celebrity Sudesh Bhonsle for the same.

According to sources, Rajesh Khanna features as an ageing don in the film; the shooting of which he started a year back.

Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, come together to share screen space as lovers whose lives intermingle with the evolution of the city of Bombay, through the 50s to early 70s.

An excited Anurag Kashyap says, "Bombay Velvet is my first film in a trilogy about Bombay, before it became a Metropolis. It's a story that has always fascinated me and we have been developing it for about four years, and I am very excited that now its fully ready and we begin shoot this year."
